JOB DESCRIPTION: Comply with Federal Aviation Administration 14CFRPart139 and Transportation Security Administration 49CFRPart1542 regulations required to operate a commercial airport, General Mitchell International Airport (MKE), and a general aviation airport, Lawrence J. Timmerman Airport (MWC).
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
Inspect airfield and airport facilities daily.
Ensure compliance with Federal, State, County, and Airport policies.
Coordinate airport construction and maintenance of airfield projects.
Respond to incidents and accidents of various sizes.
Take appropriate measures to correct issues. Make timely decisions under stressful conditions.
Complete assorted reports to document events.
Coordinate VIP movements and special operations/events.
Assist Milwaukee County Fire Department in a second-responder capacity.
Meet with airport users/tenants to resolve operational problems.
Maintain good working relationships with internal and external agencies.
Provide and support on-the-job training for new employees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Authorized to work in the United States.
Valid Driver’s License at the time of application with the ability to obtain a Wisconsin Driver’s license within six (6) months of hire. Must maintain a valid license throughout employment.
Employees must undergo a criminal history background check to maintain security clearance for unescorted access to secured areas of the airport.
High School Diploma and at least three (3) years of experience in Airport Operations.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in aviation management or related field or at least one (1) year of experience in Airport Operations.
Ability to lift/carry up to 20 lbs. and push/pull up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis.
