The Assistant Superintendent-Administrative Services supervises the construction, maintenance, and repair of all school buildings and facilities. He/she plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates administrative systems and procedures as they relate to business services. He/she is responsible for fiscal planning, standards, and control. He/she will be directly responsible to the District Superintendent.
Among the Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the operation of buildings and grounds, fiscal office and accounting, supplies, food service, transportation, and educational data processing.
Assists the Superintendent in planning and supervising long-range building and construction needs of the district.
Supervises the acquisition, development, and disposition of school real properties.
Responsible for plant operation, maintenance and inspection, site selection, surveys, and formulation of studies.
Responsible for the maintenance of financial accounts, care of contracts, other business papers including the preparation, administration and control of the School District budget, auditing, cost accounting, maintenance of salary accounts, property accounting, insurance, cafeteria accounts, reports, inventories of supplies and the inventories of equipment.
Ensures the foregoing staff services are attuned to the needs of the instructional program.
Coordinates matters which affect school properties with other city and county agencies, such as, City Planning Commission, Public Works Department, Board of Supervisors, Arts Commission and City and County Purchasing Departments.
Has general overall direction and supervision of all classified personnel assigned to the functions listed above.
Manages and coordinates all district insurance programs.
Writes goals and performance objectives in his/her assignment and other relevant areas.
Assumes and implements all duties and responsibilities of the position within the fiscal limitations of the school district.

The Los Banos Unified School District is composed of approximately 11,242 students, TK-12. From 2000-0008, our enrollment growth has averaged 3.89% per year. Students are housed in nine elementary schools, one district-wide Transitional Kindergarten Center and two junior high schools (grades 7-8), two comprehensive high schools, one alternative high school and one alternative education center The District has an adult education program and operates LEAP, a before/after school program. Governed by a 7-member Board of Education, the District employs approximately 585 certificated and 510 classified employees and oversees an annual budget in excess of $143,248,517 (2019-2020).
