Overview:
Mount Saint Mary Academy is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated individual to serve as the Head Junior Varsity Girls Tennis Coach. The successful candidate will be committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the court while fostering a positive, competitive, and supportive team environment. This position plays an important role in the continued growth and success of the tennis program.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Head Coach for the JV Girls Tennis team
- Plan and conduct daily practices focused on skill development, match strategy, and sportsmanship
- Coach and supervise all JV matches and team activities
- Work collaboratively with the Varsity coaching staff to promote continuity within the program
- Evaluate student-athletes and provide constructive feedback to support growth and development
- Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, accountability, and competitive excellence
- Monitor student-athlete academic and behavioral expectations
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administration, and athletic department staff
- Ensure compliance with school policies and athletic department procedures
- Assist with program-wide initiatives, team events, and player development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Prior tennis coaching experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of tennis fundamentals, techniques, rules, and match strategy
- Ability to teach and develop athletes with varying skill levels and experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Commitment to the educational mission of Mount Saint Mary Academy
- Ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes
- Availability for all scheduled practices and matches during the fall season
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience coaching high school or club tennis
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)
Start Date:
- August 2026 (Preseason)
Compensation:
- Competitive seasonal stipend ranging from $4,500–$6,500, based on experience and qualifications
