Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative (BDEC) is accepting applications for a Journeyman Lineworker. BDEC serves northwest North Dakota, bordered by Canada to the north and Montana to the west. Position Summary
Under the direction of the Line Foreman, the Journeyman Lineworker is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electric distribution systems. This position also supports the operation and maintenance of substation facilities and associated equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Construction and maintenance of overhead and underground electric lines
Maintenance of substation facilities
Operation and maintenance of tools, vehicles, and heavy equipment
Driving trucks and operating machinery
Loading, unloading, and handling materials
Climbing utility poles and working from aerial man-lift devices
Responding to outages and emergency situations in a timely manner
Working on-call, after hours, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather as required
Qualifications
Qualified applicants must meet the following requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Completion of an approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program
Successful completion of a qualified four-year Journeyman Lineworker training program
