Malden Catholic, a Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Codivisional 7-12 School for young men and women, seeks a candidate for a Technical Director position for the 2025-2026 school year. This individual will be responsible for designing and building sets, as well as overseeing the backstage crew and technical aspects of all MC theater productions. The ideal candidate has prior experience in set design and construction or possesses strong carpentry skills. This position plays an integral role in supporting the emotional well-being and healthy development of our students by assisting them in areas of personal and social growth, academic achievement, and appreciation of spiritual and cultural diversity.

Skills/Qualifications:
•Experience in set design and/or carpentry (theater experience preferred)
•Ability to safely operate tools and construction equipment
•Strong leadership and communication skills, especially when working with students
•Availability for after-school rehearsals and production weeks

Description:
The Technical Director will:
•Design and construct theatrical sets in collaboration with the director and production team
•Lead and supervise student tech and backstage crews during rehearsals and performances
•Teach students basic stagecraft, set construction, and backstage safety practices
•Coordinate technical needs such as props, set changes, and backstage organization
•Manage build schedules to meet production deadlines
•Ensure safety standards are met in all backstage and construction activities
•Model the Catholic values of the school.

Compensation:
This is a stipend position. The specific stipend amount will be discussed during the interview process.
