The City of Charlotte is seeking an Engineering Director for Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Airport’s Engineering Division, managing large-scale design and construction programs valued at hundreds of millions annually. This position directs all engineering and construction activities supporting CLT’s $3.5 billion capital improvement program over the next five years, spanning airside, landside, horizontal, and vertical projects. Reporting to the Chief Infrastructure Officer, the Director ensures all initiatives align with FAA, TSA, NCDOT, and City of Charlotte standards to promote operational safety, efficiency, and compliance. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aviation related field, or related field plus seven (7) years’ experience; master’s plus five (5) years’ experience. Seven years of progressively responsible experience in airport engineering, planning, and construction, including considerable supervisory experience.
