Job Description:
Summary Facilities Planning and Management at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for a Facilities Construction Manager III. This position will provide construction management services for moderate to large-size capital projects for renovation or new construction of campus facilities.
Responsibilities include acting as the Owners Representative during the construction phase of assigned projects. This includes the management, coordination, and construction administration services. Additionally, the Facilities Construction Manager III observes work in progress to assure that the installation of materials and equipment is in accordance with contract documents, applicable codes, and university standards. At any one time, this position has oversight of multiple projects with aggregate project budgets totaling up to $80 million.
The successful candidate will possess good communication skills, strong analytical and organizational skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to lead diverse project teams with conflicting interests, needs or requirements; and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

May provide recommendations regarding problems/issues outside the bounds of defined procedures and practices Responds to complicated inquiries, provides training, and provides direction to lower-level staff May provide supervision for one to two other staff (i.e., leads a small work team) May lead projects for which well-defined practices and procedures may not exist Provides guidance to students
