Entry level or experienced level position. Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager/Line Superintendent, Foreman. The Apprentice lineman participates in the lineman training program, performs distribution line maintenance and construction activities. Develops sound, effective, efficient and safe working habits. The lineman apprentice training program requires a minimum of four years to complete. It includes extensive on the job training, formal training and written study. Satisfactory performance and continuous progress toward completion of the program is required. Works overtime and/or on call duty after normal working hours, including evenings, late nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Must be able to report for duty within the timeframe that NVEC sets forth.
