Provide systems integration solutions for all audio, video, and conferencing systems in both academic and non-academic applications. Serve as tier-3 escalation point for all academic and non-academic spaces incidents. Provide the University Community with appropriate equipment recommendations, and manage all aspects of a client's project pertaining to the installation of technology. Additionally, this position will assist Event Services AV team when needed.
Required Qualifications::
Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering or related field; Or Associate's degree with 2 years of related experience; Or high school diploma and 4 years of related experience. Related experience can include experience gained through intern/externships and/or student employment.
Knowledge of Extron technology and associated classroom audio/video equipment with Extron AV Associate Certification.
Ability to read and understand construction drawings (architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems) / and related documentation.
Ability to work independently, as a productive team member and show self-initiative.
Demonstrated skills in good customer service, customer relations, and multitasking.
Knowledge of emerging technologies in the audio/video field
Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written.
Excellent problem-solving skills necessary.
Knowledge of IT service management best practices.
Essential Functions and percent of time::
55% AV Systems Engineering and Support: Manage the installations, maintenance, and repair of AV systems. Work with Instructional Technology Support and Classroom Operation teams in developing new technologies to enhance the faculty's pedagogical methods and needs. Analyze system failures and provide an appropriate and timely solution. Provide systems training and support to first and second tier Client Services personnel along with end users. Assist in the review of blueprints and building plans in order to provide solutions to Planning, Engineering, and Construction, as well as, external contractors, architects, and engineers. Provide continuous engineering support throughout the project, from inception through implementation.
Working Conditions::
Involves climbing ladders, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds. May be required to enter spaces with bio-chemical hazard precautions. Occasionally involves extensive walking, with or without pushing utility carts.
