Under the direction and guidance of the Colorado Air and Spaceport Director and the Operations/Maintenance Manager, the maintenance technician shall perform duties associated with the care, maintenance, repair, and security of all Airport land, facilities, utilities, and fleet of vehicles and equipment. This position is a hands-on and on-call position. This General Maintenance position is designed to provide the Airport with a good overall maintenance technician, capable of a broad spectrum of assignments, with expertise in facility systems.
Perform maintenance and repairs of Airport owned buildings. Perform maintenance and repairs of Airport owned land and grounds. Perform maintenance and repairs of all Airport hard surfaces (i.e. asphalt and concrete), includes snow removal, crack sealing, asphalt patching, paint striping, etc. Perform maintenance and repairs of the Airport's utilities, including water system, sanitary sewer system, and storm sewer system. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the Airport's fleet of vehicles and equipment.
More Qualifications for Success
Experience:
Fleet experience preferred to include large to small equipment and vehicles.
Air-conditioning and heating experience preferred.
Airport experience preferred.
License or Certificate:
Valid Colorado driver's license, or the ability to obtain one, required (out of state hires must obtain within 30-days of hire).
Colorado CDL license preferred.
Background Check: Must pass a criminal (CBI) background check.
Other:
Requires 24-hour/7-day on-call status.
Rotating shifts, nights, weekends and holidays can be expected.
Pager and cell phone are provided and required to be monitored.
Essential duties require the following physical abilities and work environment:
Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, squat, stoop, reach, crawl, twist, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Exposure to loud noises, outdoors, electrical hazards, chemicals, dust, mechanical moving parts and hazards.
Exposure to all weather conditions, including extreme cold and hot temperatures and high winds expected.
Potential for working in and around sanitary sewer systems.
