Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Operations Area Manager for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Under the direction of and reporting to the Associate Director Supervisor of Operations and Maintenance and in conjunction with the Planner Estimator, manages, plans, estimates and issues work orders for the day-to-day repair, maintenance, preventative maintenance, and minor alterations for buildings under his/her purview
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Mentors, motivates and supervises a variety of craft personnel overseeing behavior (attendance, compliance with university and department guidelines, etc.),
investigative activities, repair, and maintenance.
Actively participates in the planning of renovations, additions, and new construction at the university indicating the needs of operational integrity for university buildings.
Oversees any outside vendors performing work on building systems.
Participates with the planning, quality assurance and regulatory compliance division on load leveling and implementation of the preventative maintenance program for buildings and related equipment.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience plus a minimum of five (5) years of experience in supervision, preferably in a union environment and building maintenance systems: electrical, mechanical operations and repair.

Equipment Utilized:
Computer proficiency and experience in Windows, email, and Microsoft Office particularly Excel. Will utilize AiM work management, Kronos timekeeping system, and RIAS –Rutgers Administrative system.
Knowledge of the University purchasing system preferred.
