General Description:
Assistant Supervisor for a model making and fabrication laboratory in the College of Architecture. Responsibilities include the maintenance of the equipment, supervising the student staff, and providing assistance to the many student users of the facility primarily during evening and weekend hours.

Education & Experience:
College degree required, or an equivalent combination of education & experience. Four years experience constructing, models, furniture, sculpture, doing construction work or similar. Two years experience maintaining machinery including saws, planers, welders, compressors and dust collectors Experience training and/or educating others on construction and safety procedures.
Knowledge & Skills:
A high level of skill working with wood and plastic using hand and power tools. Basic computer skills including the use of Word, Excel and e-mail. Welding skills and machinist skills are very desirable. Knowledge of AutoCad is very desirable as is familiarity with other 3D modeling software. Knowledge of Cura and Preform (3-D printer slicing programs) as well as RhinoCAM (CNC command program). Skill using laser cutters and CNC milling machines is very desirable. Skill with spray painting is desirable. Skill with casting is desirable.
