The Department of Engineering Technology seeks to expand its pool of applicants for potential adjunct faculty positions. We are seeking Masterâ™s and Doctoral-qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses and/or labs in the following disciplines:
Course content may include instruction related to one or more of the following:
Construction materials and methods,
Project cost estimating,
Project planning and schedule,
Jobsite quality including site layout and dimensional control,
Project site safety, and/or
Drawing and plan reviews
Labs may require hands on instruction associated with one or more of the following trades (note, each of these trades may be taught independently or in combination in a lab setting and will be associated with a materials and methods course):
Carpentry,
Masonry,
Concrete,
Plumbing and/or
Electrical work
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruction may be delivered on-campus, off-campus, or online and may be during the day and/or evening as dictated by student demand and departmental needs.
Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards.
Plan and create lectures and lab work, in-class discussions, and assignments.
Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
For labs, provide hands on instruction showing students proper procedures related to installation and/or modification of construction systems or subsystems.
Assist/mentor students as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking over rough or uneven surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. The work may require specific, but common construction related activities, physical characteristics and abilities, such as above average agility and dexterity.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum required experience: Masterâ™s degree and 18 graduate credit hours in Construction Management or related discipline as appropriate to the program and two years of related experience
